Thank you!

We had a great Festival!  With the sales of Westalee templates, Janome machines and SISTERS quilt patterns and Modern Antique fabric, we had our best Festival ever!  Thank you so much for giving us a chance to meet the prices at the Janome booth.  We matched all prices as we are proud that you wanted to keep your business at Quilter's Emporium!

We are planning our upcoming Rock my Christmas which takes place via email from December 1-12.  We have lots of great gifts to offer to you at great prices!  And guess what?  We are now Martelli dealers!  You gotta check out these Martelli tables!  A-MAZING!  Ours will be set up soon!

Mystery Club notes from Pam...

November starts the second half of Mystery #12.   Quilts are beginning to take shape.  What clue will be given this month?  Join us Saturday, November 25, 2017 and see what awaits.  Remember to bring your projects for "show and tell".  See you at 9:00 - 11:00 a.m. OR 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

 Notes from Joey...

I asked Mama to use this picture again because I am still celebrating with the Astros...and I really like this shirt!

Just to let you know, last week i had some very bad long seizures.  (I don't remember them.)  Mama took me to A&M to visit the nice doctors there. They took blood to make sure that there isn't something wrong here (test results are ok so far).  My doctor, Dr. Armstrong (she's a sweetie), wants to do an MRI sometime, so maybe we will do that a little later.  BUT I have not had a seizure since last Thursday, so I'm doing good so far with my new increased dosage!

I had a good time at A&M!  When I went in every exam room, they wrote "Howdy Joey!" on the white board!  I felt really warm and fuzzy!  I was hoping to meet Miss Reveille, but I didn't see her.  Did you know that if Miss Rev barks in a class, the professor has to dismiss the class?  Wow!  That is canine clout!  I really want to to meet her!!!!

So if you heard that I was sick last week, don't worry about this ole pup, I'm doing good now!  I will be in the shop this weekend for Saturday Sampler.

Licks and kisses, y
our pal, Joey

The Quilting Angels charity quilting bee will be sewing quilts on Monday, November 20 from 10:00 until about 4:00.  We meet at Quilter’s Emporium, and anyone who would like to help is invited to join us.  Come one time and try it out if you’re not sure if you would be comfortable.  We promise to be nice!  Bring your sewing machine and basic sewing supplies.  We have quilt kits cut out and ready to sew together.  You can choose whichever one you want to work on.  There are easy kits and more intermediate level patterns cut and ready to sew.  There will be a few quilts needing hand binding sewn down on charity day, but not very many this month, unless some of the quilts that are out to quilters come in soon.

The picture included with this article is of two little girls who lost all of their possessions in the Harvey flood.  Aren’t they adorable?  We gave them two bed quilts and one play quilt with “paper” dolls and clothes to put on the dolls.  They love all three quilts!

There was a lovely thank you from Cedar Chest Quilt Shop in their newsletter recently about the quilt deliveries to flood victims near Austwell and Tivoili, for which we contributed ten quilts.  They have been overwhelmed by the outpouring of thanks from the recipients.

Thank you for the donations of fabric and completed quilts in the last couple of weeks.  If you need to reach me, you can email me at

May your bobbin always be full, but not wound too tight!  Susan

We hope everyone had a wonderful time at festival!  We certainly did.  Now it is back to the real world to work on all those wonderful projects that we bought from all those fantastic vendors.  So much fun!

In between those projects when you need to take a break and need something really simple to work on before you start your next project, please consider sewing up a pillowcase for our hospices.  We keep pillowcase kits in the shop anyone willing to help with the Million Pillowcase Challenge.  The kits are free we just ask that they be returned to Quilter’s Emporium.

We plan to make the October delivery to Houston Hospice next Wednesday.  When that delivery is made, we will have delivered over 1,300 pillowcases this year.  At this rate, we should be able to deliver at least 1,500 pillowcases again in 2017.  Our November delivery will be made to Silverado Hospice.

The national total as of Wednesday evening is 752,889.

Happy Sewing!
