We started slowly, because we will be offering optional cutting instructions as well as support for those of you who opted to use some of the Studio 180 rulers. In addition, our next class meeting is the very last day of March, so you have plenty of time to finish the first clue, and get ready for the second clue. At our next session, we will use the first Studio 180 ruler, Tucker Trimmer I, if you selected that option.. Come join us, March 31st, 9:00 a.m. - 11:00a.m. OR 11:30 a.m. - 1:30 p.m.

Thanks to all of you who are a part of this great group! We hope you’re having as much fun as we are! Rose Ann has gone to great lengths to acquire enough additional Modern Antiques fabric for everybody’s quilts. We are currently waiting on a new printing of the background fabric and cutting kits for the rest of the batik blocks. Once the batik block kits are complete, we will use the rest of those fabrics to complete the setting kits (upwards of 70 fabrics, for a truly scrappy quilt).

Summer Solstice, April 22-24
Sunrise Mixer, May 25, June 8, and June 27
Summer Solstice - $107
Summer Solstice is a great “beginner” (as in never paper pieced) project. It is also a wonderful project for the more experienced quilter to experiment with color placement within the various design elements. The class will break down the various elements of the pattern and walk you through the Judy Niemeyer paper piecing process. At Fall Market Quiltworx.com introduced a queen version of Summer Solstice - there are small modifications to the New York Beauty element, adds a newly designed pieced border, and a pieced outside borders (first seen in Mariner’s Compass Technique of the Month). For this class you be constructing the queen pattern as it has eliminated the 16 “Y” seams and makes the construction process incredibly fast and easy. Jan Mathews, Certified Instructor for Judy Niemeyer / Quiltworx, will lead you through the Judy Niemeyer process in a calm, positive, and supportive class room setting.

Judy Neimeyer Clockworx - $57
Quiltworx teamed up with Cut Loose Press to create an introductory paper-piecing blocks series. Six different small projects were created utilizing these blocks. Clockwork is one of those original six small projects. The series was designed to be a beginner program to introduce students to paper-piecing. Clockwork was introduced at Spring Market (2017) to demonstrate curved piecing and floating points. The project can be the original 49” x 70” or enlarged by purchasing additional Charm Elements packages (papers). Some pre-class preparation is required. Join Jan Mathews, a Quiltworx Certified Instructor, for a fun class introducing you to paper-piecing (Judy style in particular) with Charm Elements (papers) and Cut Loose Press (pattern).
