Quilting Angels
Million Pillowcase  Challenge
We are hosting our next One and Done event this Saturday!  If you signed up you can look forward to a pre-cut kit, delicious lunch, snacks, swag basket and a fun time making the quilt project!
Please bring your sewing machine, power cords, foot pedal, rotary cutter, small travel cutting mat, marking pencil, small ruler for marking a sewing line, 4 1/2" square ruler for square ups (we have some here for purchase).  We will provide 4 irons and pressing pads.  That's an iron for 2 people to share.

First Session is from 9-noon.  Please try to come 15 minutes early so that you can set up your machine.
Lunch for everyone from Noon to 1pm.
Second Session from 1pm - 4pm.

We will debut the project for the November One and Done this Saturday!   Limited spaces available.  We do try really hard to observe Social Distancing guidelines.

We have seen a nice response the Quilt Challenge and it isn't too late for others to participate!  Please consider joining the challenge and make a quilt using holiday fabric!  We have a great selection of Holiday themed fabrics...Thanksgiving, Winter, Christmas, etc!

Do you have an idea for a holiday quilt that could possibly win a Viewer's Choice voting?  Well, lets see what you can do!!!  We are hosting a Quilt Challenge with the theme "Holiday Quilts" and the winner will take away a gift basket valued at $250!

If you want to participate, purchase a minimum of 4 yards of holiday and blender fabric at QE and make a quilt top (design of your choice) and return it to the shop by Sunday, October 25, we will hang it in the shop and host a Viewer's Choice voting on the weekend of October 31-November 1.  The quilt should be a throw sized quilt...approx. 60"x60".

If you choose to enter, fill out the registration form (available at the Quilter's Emporium counter), pay the $5 entry fee and purchase your fabric.  That's it!   Oh, yea..make the quilt top and bring it in!

Also during that same weekend, we will host an "I Miss Quilt Shows" Fun Day in the shop.  Stay tuned for more details!

JANOME M7s in stock - priced to sell!
We are taking almost 40% off of MSRP and you can get a $200 Home Depot gift card (Gift card offer ends September 30)!   You can even take your M7 home today!  Stop in for a demo today!  We'd love to show you!

Did you know that the M7 is now the best selling machine at Quilter's Emporium?  It is surpassing the sales of the 9450 and we have lots in stock right now for you to take home!  As a matter of fact, I bought one for myself and so did half the staff!  We all love it!  This machine beat out over 6000 entrants for the iF Design Award and 10,000 competitors from 70 countries to win the 2020 RedDot Design award.  Congratulations!

Here are some great features that I love in the M7!

Unsurpassed light - 9 super-bright LEDs that illuminates the whole bed of the machine!
There are suction cups under the feet of the machine that prevent the machine from bouncing around on your work table...brilliant idea!
13.5" to the right of the needle and 17.81" total work area!  That's HUGE!
Bright, slick, white extension table with ruler markings in black...so easy to see and measure!  Has a storage drawer!  The white table reflects the light which makes visibility even better!
Automatic Presser Foot Lift
Magnetic needleplate release - so easy...just push a button!
Sews up to 1300 stiches per minute!
400 stitches plus Stitch Composer software so you can design your own stitches!
Separate bobbin winding motor
Built in dual vertical thread stands - use those cones of thread that you have collected!
Super powerful brushless DC motor - sews through 20 layers of fabric as if it was only 2 layers!  That's huge if you sew leather or denim.
Over $700 worth of feet and accessories included in the box...now THAT's VALUE!   Includes over 23 presser feet and 3 needleplates!
On screen clock (simple idea and I use it all the time!)
Quilt Block Advisor - on screen - helps you calculate number and size of patches to be cut for 6 quilt block designs. You tell it how big your block with be and it tells you the rest!  Log Cabin, 9 Patch and more!
9mm maximum stitch width - that's 90 needle positions - now THAT's accuracy!
AcuSpark Tutorial - download the free app and aim your smartphone on the QR code.  It shows you all the info you need for wherever you are on the display - how to use a presser foot and more!  It's like having a teacher with you all the time!

Capistrano - 2021 Saturday Sampler

            Capistrano batik.jpg  Capistrano brights.jpg
2021 Saturday Sampler or Block of the Month Program

"Capistrano", designed by our own Pam Baum, is designed with a nod to Studio 180 tools! All block and setting kit instructions are written for the use of Studio 180 tools AND traditional piecing techniques...so if you haven't jumped on the Studio 180 bandwagon, please don't feel that we don't want you...we do!

This quilt is offered in two different colorways, batiks or brights. Because of COVID-19, we are breaking from the Saturday Sampler tradition by also offering this quilt as a Block of the Month program that is available by mail.

Customers who feel comfortable making it to the Saturday Sampler meetings (social distancing observed), they earn a small thank you gift at each of the monthly meetings. Another perk, participants do not have to make the block each month and show it at the next meeting. You can make it when you are ready.

Registration fee of $50 covers all 12 6" monthly block kits. The setting kit costs $265. The setting kit includes participation in the hands-on workshops for those who wish to get assistance. It also includes fabric and exclusive pattern for the entire quilt top, borders, and binding.

This is a gorgeous project and we hope you sign up soon either online on our website www.quiltersemporium.com (left hand menu, click on Capistrano) or by calling the shop at (281) 491-0016

Notes from the Shop Dogs

Katey running in grass.jpg

Hi Peoples!  Katey-no here!  I have a tuffed up nose again...awergies.

Do you ‘member this cute picture of me?  It was the picture that made Mommy and Daddy fall in love wiff me on Petfinder.  I was pwaying super-pup wiff my foster mom!  It was fun!

She is luving sewing on her new M7 sewing machine and I thinks she isn't paying attention to anything else.  So it is her fault that I'm in the "doghouse" today.  You see, I wuv to puwl tissues out of Mommy's pockets...a lot...a whole lot!   I teached Eddie and Bailey how to do it and we all think it is wots of fun!

Emma and Joanie are such “owd ladies” ‘cause they don’t want to do it.  More fun for us!

Mommy says we are in big trouble if we do it again today.  I don’t see how we can.  She is keeping the tissues in the trash can now.  I can’t reach that…I’m too widdle!

Eddie:  Katey-no, guess what?  You can tip over the trash can!!  Let me show you how it's done!!!!
Katey-no:  Weeee!   Show me, show me, show me!!!!!

Do your pups and kitties pway with tissues?????  Did we invent this game????

Wicks and kisses, Katey-no, Eddie, Baiwey, Emma and Joanie
